Help finding place for inpatient physical therapy observation hours?

We Answered:

you may be better calling an freestanding physical therapy clinic. The owners are PTs. You do not have to go through the hospital volunteer program or bureaucracy. PT understand that it is a requirement and they all did it. Good luck

Annette Said:

What is the requirement to become a certified physical therapist in California?

We Answered:

There are no accredited 4 year PT programs. *The last one finished in about 2003. There are 2 year AAS degree for PTA. Then there are almost 200 programs that offer either a 3 plus 3 year DPT or BS plus 3 program for 7 years. There are 15 masters programs in the country mostly on the west coast that are 2 years past a bs. They are being phased out.

U of Oklahoma has both a 3 plus 3 plus a BS plus 3 DPT program

After graduating you need to pass the national liscensing exam. In CA, you would also need to pass the CLE exam which is a multiple choice test on the practice act in CA.and pay CA about 250 dollars for the intial application fee, liscence and finger printing. Each state is different but in the US, everyone needs to pass the national exam.
