Physical Therapy Schools In Chicago

Jessica Said:

will i get into any of these schools with these stats?

We Answered:

Depending on the size of the college, most look primarily at academic achievement then extracurricular activities. Check www.collegeboard.com for a complete listing of the acceptance and retention rate of any college.

If you are truly worried, schedule an interview and a tour at your top school choice. When the guidance admissions counselors become familiar with you, they are able to see your drive and learn your potential.

Paula Said:

dental hygienist career in chicago?

We Answered:

The demand is way down, pay is good but it's impossible to find full time work. Hours are basically whatever you can get it's not a position where you are going to get to pick and choose, you'll be begging for work (sorry but it's true). I work 2 jobs right now as a hygienist and still do not have anywhere near full time hours. I have worked in about 15 different offices over my career so far and have NEVER had benefits, or temped for an office that gave any of it's employees benefits. It's just not part of the job. I would go for nursing if I were you, the demand is high the pay is about the same and you get benefits. It's a much more secure position. I love being a hygienist but if I had to do it all again I'd pick something I could make a real living doing.

Does college reputation really count?

We Answered:

If you go to UW, you will be fine. If you plan on going to a top tier grad school such as Northwestern, then the tier of your undergraduate education will be considered. For instance, someone with a 3.0 from the undergraduate program in Northwestern, may get chosen over someone with a 3.4 from LaCrosse. Certainly, LaCrosse is not a "cakewalk" school either, but its not in the same caliber as Northwestern. However, a good solid student can be accepted into NU's program. I'd say if you plan on applying to RFU, UIC, Midwestern or NIU, you will be just fine to go to LaCrosse.

...as far as getting a job, your school doesnt' matter quite so much...a new grad is a new grad for the most part.
