It's a very satisfying career. You should be strong in science, math and have great interpersonal and problem solving skills.

It's usually a 7 year degree, although some private colleges and universities offer an accelerated direct admit program that is only 6 years. It's highly competitive to get INTO a PT program, but job prospects are high. Nationally, average salary for a physical therapist is about $70,000...new graduates can expect to make somewhat less.

You can get a list of all accredited PT programs at www.apta.org and go to the education programs link. They also have information for prospective students.

College choice: Villanova or Northeastern?

We Answered:

i go to northeastern, am a pharmacy major, and love it. no greek life you say? ummmm.....i wouldn't be so sure.
seems more like a job than a college? as i am writing you this, i am on my second co-op. i wouldn't trade the experience for the world. especially in the health sciences. friends a problem? not a chance. we have a spring break, and if you're worried about friends/summers working, do a co-op at home. will it be cold? yes, but no colder than NJ or PA I'll tell you that much.

besides, northeastern is in the top 100 national universities, whereas villanova isn't as far as i can tell

if you want more info. i can def. fill in the voids for you. (at least for NEU) contact me if you want

Pls help. School with physical therapy or sports medicine program ?

We Answered:

As far as physical therapy, you can get a list of all the PT schools at www.apta.org

As far as "sports medicine" (assuming you mean a physician who has a specialty in sports med, be it family medicine, orthopedic surgeon, physiatrist, etc), you'll have to go to any med school first and then complete your residency in the aforementioned specialty and then a fellowship in sports med.
