Physical Therapy Tech Jobs

Constance Said:

Is there such a thing as a bachelors in physical therapy??

We Answered:

There is no longer a BS of PT in the US. It is now a master's degree or doctorate degree. Most students get an undergraduate degree in a related field that helps them get some of their prereqs such as kinesiology or health sciences, etc. Then they apply to the grauate level program.

Catherine Said:

Is an xray tech or physical therapy tech a better career route in terms of school and pay?

We Answered:

As far as the tech position is concerned, to become a PT tech does not require any formal education. That being said, the pay is quite low. An x-ray tech does require formal education and training, but starting salaries are good...especially with multiple certifications.

Yet, as mentioned above, you may want to consider a PTA or COTA...both are two year degrees and pay close to an x-ray tech (who right now get paid somewhat higher).

It depends more on what you like to do.

Paul Said:

Is becoming a Surgicial Tech a good career Job?

We Answered:

For a certificate or two year degree, it's not too bad. You'll make more than twice than that of a physical therapy technician and jobs will be more plentiful. But if you are considering something physical therapy related, why not become a physical therapy assistant? It's a two year degee and average salary is about the same or more than a sugical tech.

You won't get rich doing either, but for two year degrees, it's not bad.

Warren Said:

Job path for sports medicine or physical therapy degree...?

We Answered:

a tech in PT is an aide, no degree required.

PT is a DPT now so it is three years. There are only a handful of masters programs and they are being phased out.

You can get a job as an aide, an orderly at a hospital, a cna at a nursing home, a home health aide,

Eddie Said:

I am currently a college student at Texas Tech University. Need infomation about Physical Therapy Assistant.?

We Answered:

you have to go to PTA school to be a PTA. However, PTA is not a stepping stone to PT. It actually take longer to do it this way.
