Will the time before you went to physical therapy be counted in the settlement?

About physical therapy?

Please ignore Douglas's answer. He has got a personal vendetta against physical therapists and is uneducated in pathophysiology and thinks he's invented the world's answer to every pain in the world..."to release the tendon". But I digress....

Physical therapy is a career where you evaluate and treat patients who have functional limitations due to disease, illness, injury, pain, etc. We may recommend and provide treatments such as manual therapy, massage, exercise, gait training, balance training, etc.

Most PT programs are now doctorate and require 6-7 years of education depending on the structure of the program you enter. Entrance into PT programs is competitive and GPA is highly scrutinized. Your undergraduate work focuses mostly on sciences. Job prospects are expected to continue to grow. National average salary is around $72,000 but varies considerably.

Deanna Said:

Do you guys have any idea of the length of the physical therapy aide course and the avg wages?

We Answered:

While becoming a PT aide (or tech) doesn't require any coursework, many community colleges or tech schools are offering a PT tech course which may range from 6 months to a year. Salary is typically a few dollars above minimum wage...depending on what capacity you will be utilized.

The physical therapy assistant course, as mentioned above is typically a two year degree...most PTAs average a salary between $30,000 to $40,000 (typically around $14-19/hour) according to a survery in 2005 by APTA
