How to major in Physical Therapy?

We Answered:

You'll need to see if the college you wish to attend is one of the accredited PT programs...go to www.apta.org and view the list of PT programs by state.

If your chosen college only offers "pre-physical therapy"...then yes, you would take your basic science courses and general education credits there, and then apply to graduate school when the time is appropriate.

If it is an accredited program, then you can complete your undergraduate work first, and then apply to the graduate program at the same school without having to transfer.

Good luck

College websites, physical therapy?

PT is a graduate course. You will not find it in undergrad.

Websites for physical therapy?

We Answered:

Do not jump ahead of your scheduled therapy. Call the therapy clinic and ask them if you are cleared to do any exercise or movements prior to therapy. Sometimes there are points during recovery when if you stress the surgical site you can damage it further. Don't fool around with this. Glad your pain is down. Use caution until you see the therapist.

physical therapy?

Wow, you have a lot on your plate for a 20 year old. There is a muscle which is a major hip flexor called the psoas major. You may try stretching this out in order to lengthen it and take some of the pressure of your lower spine. Go on a website that illustrates how to perform this stretch an do it a few times a day. If you sit a lot your hip flexors could be shortened. This may offer you with the relief you need. Good luck.

Physical Therapy....?

We Answered:

NO! The reason why you need to see a PT is so they can assess your knees and your muscles. You might just have tight hamstrings which can cause pain in the knees. However you need to be assessed and then the 'correct' treatment started. Find a PT, the sooner the better. Best of Luck
