Is it true that the Chick-fil-A franchise helps fund and supports "conversion/reparative" therapy on LGBT's?

We Answered:

For Denver: did you know that Pepsi is owned by Mormons?

For everyone else: I repudiate any attempt to alter sexual orientation involuntarily. There is no possible "therapy" for anyone who does not wish it. This entire concept is sick, ineffective, and smacks of mind control. It's a disgusting idea, and should be illegal. When practiced on minors, I equate it to child abuse.

I *will and must* say, however, that there are people and organizations who attempt to help those with unwanted sexual orientation. I *won't* say that they are effective, but I *will* say that any adult who wishes to attempt a change certainly has that right. This if the attempt is made from a free and uncoerced action of the will. After all, any LGBT has a right to pursue whatever they feel would make them happy.

As one who has unwanted orientation, I must say that I have strong (very strong) doubts as to whether orientation may be changed, even voluntarily, but let's not rule it out for those who are willing to risk it.

Do I have a right to be angry & What to do now?

We Answered:

how about taking the AFO's off when you take your shoes off when visiting friends..

another thing I have done is get a pair of 'indoor shoes' that i only wear in houses..

for the limited time in airports..don't wear them..get an inexpensive pair of shoes from kmart, target, or payless that fit without the afos

how old are you that your parents won't let you try?

you don't have to stop completely...only when it is truely inconvenient...and maybe just trying short periods without them is better than an entire month...

many people with AFO's only wear them part time if they are able to walk without them

How did Carol McCain, first wife of John McCain, deal with her handicap?

We Answered:

I study what my candidates have to offer the American citizens. This John McCain has not taken care of his first wife. His attitude was very brutal when he returned from the service as Prisoner-of-War. This essence continued with his displacement of his first wife who had been injured very badly in a car accident. She was 4" inches shorter after 23 surgeries. His three children couldn't understand why he was not coming back home. This was really heartbreaking to Carol McCain and his children who had waited for his safe return after five years as Prisoner-of War. He was brutal to his first wife and divorced her shortly afterward. He then married Cindy McCain who was 18 years his junior, accepted her with $100 million inheritance in tow and political help from her father.

How can Scientologists refute psychological conditions and yet...?

We Answered:

Introspection Rundown is really not like psychotherapy at all.

I can appreciate spiritual practice and therapy working hand in hand. But Scientology does not allow for anything but their way.

There are many practices of Scientology that I consider cult like, dysfunctional and psycho-spiritually dangerous.

You seem to be saying that Scientology is using Psychotherapy under a different name. I don't think that you really believe this-- at least I HOPE you don't.

Wikipedia has the most neutral info on Hubbard that I have read.

Do you believe in Astral projection (astral travel)?

We Answered:

I used to do it as a kid - although I've never told anyone about it.

When I was falling asleep as a child, I would float up into the corner of my bedroom. I shared a room with my sister - and used to just sit up in the corner right beneath the ceiling and that was it, I never tried to go anywhere else.. I could hold myself there for as long as I wanted. It wasn't something that I tried to do - in fact I didn't even realise that it was out of the ordinary until I got to a certain age.

I think I might still be able to do it because it actually came quite naturally to me.

I do remember the sensation when it happened my physical body felt like a plank. Almost a dead weight but still breathing.

Another similar experience: My ex-husband once lay down on the couch in our living room, he was dosing off and the phone rang. He sat up, but felt strange, and looked back to see his body still laying on the couch behind him. He then lay back down inside his body. That was a bit strange too.
