Sam Said:

What schools still offer the MS for physical therapy?

We Answered:

There are really only a couple left. I know many of the state schools in California are still MS programs and Arkansas State, Northern Illinois University...but I anticipate some or all of them will be DPT in the next year or two.

It really only takes about an extra year for the DPT...in some cases, it isn't any extra work...it all depends on if you complete a BS prior to the program or not.

Most DPT programs require you complete your BS prior to the PT program. This usually is 4+3 years.

Most of the MS programs do not require you to complete your BS degree, but the program is still three years...therefore, it becomes 3+3. Yet, some programs are run in a 4+2 format meaning you do have to complete a BS degree.

In either case, if you are not ready to apply NOW, don't count on a program still being at the master's degree in the next couple years. It's anticipated all will eventually transition.
