Torticollis Physical Therapy
Alfred Said:
what is the best way to get rid of congenital torticollis (neck tilted to the left)? We Answered:
I would of said try a physio, but as you have already done this, seek out a chiropractor who specialises in children and babies. Otherwise seek an opinion from a paediatrician for helpJerome Said:
Moms, did your baby have Torticollis, and if they did, are they fine now?We Answered:
I relized my son had this at one month old. I immeditly started physical therypy techniques I found online, and his doctor reconized it instanly. He was forwarded to an othrpedic specilist and physical therypist that came to our house once a week.He is 19 months now, and has been completly fine now since about the summer time. It was a long process....moving everytihing he would want to look at to the other side so he would turn his head, stetching, propping blakets in his carseat, he hated his crib for the first 6 mothes, would only sleep in his swing, had colic, crawled late and dragged his leg that was assosicated with his neck (the oppisite leg, picture a baby crawling and yourll understand why) but in the end, hes fine now, and it was mostly us parents that made the differance, we did daily stretches even though he cried and his PT said we were doing a great job.
He is fine now, and very athletic I might say, can catch, kick a ball, climb. He wont ever need a neck brace.
If youd like to email me, I have lots of tilited-head pictures of him LOL you should see his 1-12 month frame that showes his progress. By 5 months you could see a considerable differance.
One thing that sucked was switching him to a regualr carseat, he didnt have to infant seat to rest his head on if tired. He got over it in about a month, but still tilts in the carseat when tired and falling alseep.

anyone ever had their baby diagnosed with torticollis please share your experience? We Answered:
My son had mild toticollis, he would only put his head to the right, not the left. He developed a flat spot on the right side but my doc wasn't all that worried. I took him to a Chiropractor and he worked on my son. He did stretches and stuff with him. I took him for these stretches twice a week. The toricollis was completely gone within 3 months. I did these stretches everyday at home aswell. My son is 19months now and his flat spot is gone and he never had to wear a helmet. Depending on the severity, i would suggest going to a chiropractor before doing all the physio.Alfred Said:
My son has plagiocephaly and I was told he needs a helmet. Advice for dealing with insurance? We have UHC?We Answered:
It all boils down to what coverage is included and what coverage is not under your specific plan. You can't just "make" an insurer cover something if it is clearly not included in your coverage.Evelyn Said:

Hi! I don't know much about it, but at one time I did think the same thing was wrong with my daughter, so I asked a question on here about it.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
Perhaps that mother can help you if you could e-mail her! Sorry I couldn't be more help!
