How come your hands can stand the heat of hot wax when you get it at physical therapy or a special manicure ?.We Answered:
The wax used in PT/OT is parafin which has a low melting temperature...much lower than candle wax or some hot tap water. So yes, it has to do with the temperature. If the temperature on the parafin is turned up high enough, it too will burn you.
