it's not the best idea to ask it on here, as you can probably find the answer in the univeristy's course/programs book or on their website. but from experience, for psychology, it's a definite no. for physiotherapy i wouldn't assume so, but you should check to make sure!

Yes, this kind of work experience would be useful, but you should also try to gain some voluntary experience in the physio department of your nearest hospital. Contact their personnel section who should be able to advise you.

As several of my friends who are in that business say. they were attracted to that business by unsolved questions in their own lives. Many are not fully well functioning but still may be able to help you with your situation. The ones that are BEST use the EMDR method of therapy in getting people with trauma (trauma is everything) to get over it quickly and was first developed for returning Vietnam vets getting over the tragedy of watching their friends/buddies being blown to bits. One of my friends makes around $200,000/yer doing these treatments after expenses. Very little college and good income soon makes this a good idea.
Disadvantage is that you need to work at nights when people are available as well in the afternoons. May have weekend sessions to make more $. Slow to get your business going since so much of it is word of mouth.

The answer is based on what you would enjoy more - working with women during pregnancy, birth and postnatally, or working with the broader population of people on a range of issue. Each role would make you a specialist - deciding on which specialism is based on your personal motivations. Midwifery is an autonomous profession can be practiced privately or with in the NHS this is comparebale to the Physio. Both are relatively paid for entry level positions, both recruit managers from within the ranks so offer equal opportunity for advancement. Both are comparebale to diversification of practice ie teaching. The decision is your - as a health care profession you will not be as rich as a stock broker so finance can not be your motivation. Think about what you want and where you would be a good fit.
