Yes! I do know! I am not overweight but had serious knee problems due to injuries sustained on the job. I have an excellent Md who suggestd I take glucosamine chondroitin, so I did. I also had MSM in the supplement. It helped so much right away! after a year my knees feel completely better and I don't even take the Glucosamine chondroitin any more.
The supplements were about 25.00 for a supply that lasted about 3 months. It was definately worth it!

Too many variables and hard to answer but here are some points. If you have insurance make sure you go to somebody who is in network with your insurance company. In network means they have a contract with that insurance company to provide therapy at a discounted price, sometimes saving you as much as 60% or more off your bill. If you have no insurance call around to get prices but you will find that hospitals will have the highest charge and private clinics will give you the best price. Make sure you tell them you have no insurance and if you have financial hardship many will cut you a break. Your visits will probably last about about 45 minutes to one hour except for the first day because they have to do an evaluation which takes 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on your condition. A visit may cost you anywhere from $60 to $250 or more depending where you go and how they bill. They usually charge in 15 minute increments or per procedure. Most cost effective way with no insurance is to see them 2-3 times for instruction in a home exercise program. That may take care of the problem. You can also ask to see if they would charge you a visit rate then you will know ahead of time what your charges will be.

pretty much any color of the rainbow. my orthopaedic surgeon got me a bright yellow one for my left knee and a bright green one for my right. he said he was going to get me pink ones but i may re-injure myself trying to get hold of him.
price depends on what type of brace you get. the straight neoprene ones are under 100.00 regardless of color but the metal framed are a lot more. i needed and still need them from time to time so cost was not an issue. my doc just out of the blue asked what color i wanted and that was what i got.
