what are the Job opportunities in UK in MPH(public health)for Indian citizens? We Answered:
There are opportunities for qualified and experienced person and the line you have decided to study is very good as well. The overall aim of the Master of Public Health is to provide high quality teaching and learning in public health for postgraduate students with either a medical or non-medical background. I don't know where you have decided to pursue this course, but since you are doing it in UK, you will have an opportunity to get hands on experiences working in UK and to any European Countries. You may also pursue further
study/research on grants/scholarships. So there are scopes.
Jesse Said:
ethics in medicine cystic fibrosis? We Answered:
It is possible that he would be unofficially (and depending on the job) officially discriminated against by employers by declaring his condition. On the other hand, he could be terminated after employment by not disclosing his condition on his application.Health insurance companies could refuse to cover him, as his CF is a 'pre-existing' condition.
Having CF does affect life span. Median age of survival is 27, however, this can go as long as 50 with new treatments, and lung transplantation.
He should disclose his condition to his girlfriend Marie. Most CF men are infertile, not sterile, usually because they lack a vas defrens, not because they don't produce sperm. Assisted reproductive techniques can result in children from his sperm. He can have a normal married life with children, who are appropriately screened for the CF gene.
He needs to be honest in disclosing his condition to potential employers, as hospitalizations will inevitably occur with increasing frequency as the disease progresses. However, he should also stress how well his disease is under control when disclosing this.
Ireland's health system is very advanced, and he would have no worries about his disease management there or in western Europe.
Darren should speak with his lecturer about his fears with respect to disclosing his disease, and tell him why he did not mention it. Perhaps his reference can assist him in framing a response to disclose his disease state.
