Physiotherapy (or physical therapy) in the US has a rather high worker satisfaction rate. According to a recent University of Chicago survery, PTs ranked #2 as having the most satisfying career.

Salary is comfortable, but not extravvagant. Job demand is high and growing. The bureau of labor and statistics rates the average salary around $66,000 a year. The APTA did a survey three years ago and found that most PTs were earning between $50-70,000 a year (about 50%)...yet the salary range is wide.

If you are not already a licensed therapist in your country and you intend to complete your degree in the US, the entry level degree is a masters or doctorate level degree. The professional phase is usually 3 years of graduate work. Upon graduation, you must sit for a licensure exam...some states also require some type of ethics or law exam as well.

If you have obtained your degree in another country, you can apply to sit for the licensure exam after having your educational records reviewed.

eqal opps , may ask about traveling if doing elderly in own home , working as a team and on own , equal opps is the buzz word people interveiwing love to hear . health and safty is another , always ask about futhering your training if you were given the chance as it reflects you may stay there long term and be devoted to your work . always ask questions to show your intrested and write them down and take it with you so your prepared and orginised and showing them that also , its not just what you say its being friendly , polite , on time , accurate with your answers . youll be fine good luck . please mail me to let me know how you get on , my mate is doing the same thing and just finished her training , wales needs loads of physios as the waiting lists are about 3 months by which time your better any way ..................

This can get a little complicated because of the multiple jobs. Use the calculator in the link below, it can show the deductions owing on a single job.

However, since you are making more than the physio job itself, and since total tax owing in the year is based on yearly income, here is what I would suggest:

Combine all you earnings, and derive from that a 'proforma' pay cheque (weekly, biweekly, whatever is easiest for you). Run that through the calculator, which will give you a total tax deductions as if you got one big cheque each period. You can then, from that, subtract the taxes already paid through your training jobs, and figure out how much extra you should put aside.

You need to note that you will be required to submit CPP payments on self employment earnings. The CRA website gives info on how to calculate those, they are double the rate you'd pay if you earned 'normal' salary.

If you will owe more than a certain amount (I believe it's $2000) this year, AND next year, you need to make quarterly estimated tax payments to CRA. If you under pay for more than a small percentage, you will face penalties, so be as accurate as you can. You can of course make those payments in any event, but you are only required to do so if you meet the two year owing limits.
