JD, I can only assume that this is because of a national health care policy that exists there. Some bureauocrat came up with a salary schedule for what they do and that was it. Shame but I am afraid that this is going to happen here. When it does there are going to be a lot of retirements in this field.

You must be registered to practise as a physiotherapist in every Australian state and territory, but if you can manage that, there's no reason why you couldn't do casual or part time work as you travel (apart from actually finding the work).
