Requirements To Be A Physiotherapist

Kim Said:

A question about Physiotherapists......best answer up for grabs!?

We Answered:

I'm not a physio but I didn't want you to let this get on your 'wick' any longer!
Physiotherapists are expected to adhere to the same standards of hygiene and infection control as all health care workers. These would include, washing hands between patients. Ensuring that uniform was clean (change if necessary) patient couch to be cleaned between uses. Area to be damp dusted daily. Visible contamination to be cleaned immediately. Blood and body fluid spillages to be dealt with as per infection control policy.

Documentation,
Should be clear and concise, derogatory comments are not allowed (and could lead to disciplinary action) Should be up to date, with entries made as close to the event as possible.

Personal preparation
As above but also the individual would need to ensure that they maintain professional standards and keep up to date with research etc.

Hope this is of some help.

Peter Said:

Do you think you could give me a hand with some health and social coursework that i am REALLY struggling with?

We Answered:

Hi
I may not directly answer your question, however..... as a (mature student at university).............
What I would do if I were you, is to speak to your local doctors surgery (where you know people) and have a chat with the Practice Manager. She/he will be able to help you with the bigger concepts and direct you.

In the past I have found this technique easier. There is a consideration for methodology and what you can ask the practice manager is guidelines for this. The BMA should have this and NICE (perhaps).

The doctors surgery's opened 11 minutes ago. I would phone.

good luck
