Need advice on a career in Speech pathology.?We Answered:
I am guessing you will need to get a degree before starting a Master's program. If you have a bachelors degree in a field other than communication disorders the Master's program will be about 8 semesters so that you can take the prerequisite speech classes and get your observation hours. If your bachelor's degree is in communication disorders the program will be about 5 semesters. It will include classes and clinical experience. You will want to attend an accredited graduate school program which you can find on ASHA's website. After graduating with your Master's you will need to do a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) before getting your CCC's.Speech pathology is a great career and I would highly recommend pursuing it. Email me if you have any more questions.
