Who cares what your "friends" think? This is a degree that you are going to be doing for the next 3 years so you need to be at a university where you will enjoy it and on a course which you will enjoy. What people want to do is different and its not right that your friends are looking down on you, if speech therapy is something that you really want to do (and it does sound interesting) then ignore them and follow your heart. You will find more friends (the kind who will not look down on you) at university. Good luck.Bobbie Said:

Psychology - you need a doctorate to make any money.If not, you will end up in social work - one of the top ten least paying careers for your education.
You can consider going for the doctorate if you have a passion for the subject.
Speech Therapy may be rewarding to you.
Sometimes you will be dealing with people that can not improve - that may be a downer.
English - you can teach when you graduate - not much other demand
How about studying engineering - which is in extreme demand
Or becoming a doctor - which will make you very wealthy?
Take accounting - which will provide a good life - and steady employment
Please be careful with liberal arts degrees - everyone knows they barely pay although they are fun to study.
