Speech Delay Therapy
Kim Said:
what can i do to help my son with speech delay issues? We Answered:
I recently learned that parents can help their children that have speech delay problems by speaking to the children frequently in a natural voice. That means no baby talk. You can also help them name objects or toys that they like or play with. Reading to your children is also very helpful since you will be using more grammar and words. I found that my son benefited from watching programs like Dora the explorer and Arthur, Sesame Street, etc helped him learned new words. I also enrolled him in day care and his vocabulary became more dense within a few months.Doris Said:
Speech Delay!?We Answered:
It sounds like he is too embarrassed to try talking at nursery. Perhaps he finds it easier to communicate in other ways. They are not rushing him, but getting the help he needs now will improve his chances of improving greatly. Firstly, the younger you start with speech therapy, the more likely it is that he will learn to speech in an age appropriate way. Also not speaking can have a bad effect on his learning later in school.Anita Said:
speech delay?We Answered:
try not to focus so much on her speaking on her level so much and focus on getting her confidence up to communicate effectively with others. she is still very young and even at this age most children still cant say certain letter sounds.as long as she is able to communcate effectively for her age then she is doing great progress and you as her parents are doing the best you can for her!!
good luck
