I have a lisp. How can I get rid of it?We Answered:
I know this will sound silly but try sticking your chin out a little when you pronounce your 's', it brings the teeth together slightly, and rest your tongue on the floor of your mouth don't bring your tongue up, this will enable you to pronounce your letters more appropriately. I have developed a slight lisp, I notice my top teeth overlap my bottom ones as I get older. Maybe your dentist can do something to help.Lillie Said:
would clinical psychology be a good route to go?We Answered:
You need a phd or master to become a clinical psychologist. You need to finish your degree which is 3 years. Then you need to study further 1 or 2 years doctorate. To get in to a doctorate course you should have loads of experience first to support your application for this course. Its a very competitive course because it is free. Most of my friends had to do masters first to weigh their application. It is true that there are so many people studying psychology since big brother came on the scene with their psychologist. Be prepared to travel everywhere for your phd. More flexible more chances. There was a research about students who applied for this and their experience. IT took average 2 years to get into the course and alot of hardship. You can't call yourself a psychologist until you have done your phd. YOu can be an assistant psychologist and maximum 1 year employment. They are only there to help the psychologist if they need to do some research.
I don't know much about speech and language therapy but an old school friend was telling me she got a job before she finished with condition of passing. Now she's working. ITs up to you.
If your looking for stupid money, then be a consultant. My brothers a podiatrist surgeon and working towards becoming a consultant. His mentor earns £350 thousand last year from private work and nhs and overtime with nhs. At the moment he earns 80 thousand a year.
I agree. money equals stability. You should look into it and tell us what you've decided.
