Alma Said:

I plan to move to Houston, TX on July 2011. Any tips?

We Answered:

Plan to rent first until you get a feel for the city. Houston traffic can be quite frustrating. Once you find jobs then locate to the best area that's closest to your job. A very nice centrally located area to rent is Memorial in west Houston. Farther out west, the Katy area is wonderful. On the north side, The Woodlands, South side, Sugar Land. Southeast, Clear Lake. Northeast, Kingwood. It all depends where you're going to be working. With your child only being one year old, you'll not have to worry about school districts just yet, Welcome to Houston. You are going to love it!

Should I tell my principal it's unlikely I will be returning in the fall to teach?

We Answered:

Yes, be as honest as possible.

You owe this not only to the Principal but to your students. The Principal should have as much time as possible to find a replacement for you.

With love in Christ.
