Australian students! I want to study abroad...?We Answered:
HiAustralia is a diverse country with the tropics in the north such the Northern Territory and Queensland down to the cooler climates of Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania, Adelaide, not forgetting Western Australia. (All major population centres)
In terms of land mass the country is slightly less than that of America.
Right now it is winter here so a lot cooler March to July (Autumn-Winter months) August to October (Spring) with summer starting around November to February where temperatures can reach or exceed 40 degrees celcius on a number of days.
If you want information on studying here are some links:

University abroad.....?We Answered:
Hi,You'll be in a fairly good admissions position as UK pre-university education lasts 13 years whereas it lasts 12 years in most other education systems around the world. Note, this means Bachelors degrees last 4 years not 3. As an indicator a lot of US universities (there are thousands) will admit British students on the basis of their GCSEs, although not the top top ranking ones.
The countries you mention all have fantastic education systems and choosing to study your degree abroad will always be hugely rewarding for those brave enough to consider it.
You are going to have to do quite a lot of research now because its not just the uni's you'll need to research but the countries as well.
Places to start:
For guidance on applying to the US - http://www.fulbright.co.uk
They are based in London and are a US government funded project facilitating US/UK study abroad.
Also, main US government site for overseas students http://educationusa.state.gov/
Australian Government website for overseas students http://studyinaustralia.gov.au/Sia/Splas…
New Zealand gov - http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/s…
Canada - www.studycanada.ca
Also, check out the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy career guide at http://www.rcslt.org/speech_and_language… If you do decide to study abroad ring them and check what the implications would be for your career. Remember anything about professional status might only be relevant for working in the UK.
Things to be conscious of:
1) Immigration procedures
2) Costs - you CANNOT take out a UK government student loan to study abroad for your whole programme so will need to fund the study yourself. Also remember that the UK government subsidises the tuition fees British students pay so overseas universities might look like they have high fees. Make sure that the fees are for overseas students, as its common for governments to subsidise their own students.
GOOD NEWS though, many countries have far more scholarships than the UK does. As an example, Harvard University has a policy that any students who gets admitted should be able to go and will provide scholarships for tuition and living if the student can prove an inability to fund themselves (check this though!).
3) Model of Education - the whole structure of education can differ significantly from country to country. In the US you can go to university without knowing what you want to 'major' in. This is due to a strong liberal arts tradition. You would have to study a variety of subjects in the first part of the course but would specialise later.
4) All the countries you mention really want to recruit international students (with money!). This means they'll have people there to help you through the process. If you find a uni you like the look of ring them up and talk through the differences. Just be conscious that all universities have their own way of doing things. The phone bill might be large but it will be well worth it.
5) If you decide to study in the UK many many programmes allow you to do 'study abroad' for a semester or a year. When you do your research, make sure you check out the study abroad policy for your programme. You might also decide to do your Bachelors degree in the UK but do a Masters degree overseas afterwards. Generally speaking there are more scholarships for Masters and admissions is easier as education systems start to get more similar at this level.
Hope this helps!

moving to Aus?We Answered:
I am sure you will make a good living here as jobs for people with qualifications - especially in your area of study , are available. It is nice to hear that you want to come here but because you grew up in the US, keep in mind that you will experience culture shock when you arrive. This may be a "westerenised" country but it is NOT the USA. Be prepare to be "disappointed" because you will find the way of life does not operate here like what you are used to or take for granted in the States. We don't have as many cities and not as big as you may have experienced. Things might be a liitle slower and you might not get to have all the mod cons like what you are used to.
But allow yourself to be pulled into the aussie culture. See the beauty of the people in the land of your birth and what this vast country has to offer.
I was not born here but I can tell you - I love this place!

i want my son to have my last name?We Answered:
you might get mad at me but i'm gonna be honest. if he is still married and claims he can't find his wife, seems to me he doesn't want to marry you. i don't think you really want to marry into debt. also going to jail all of the time should be a red flag, among other things. now if you put your sons last name same as his, if it happens and you both separate, how can you get child support when he owns another woman so much money. not to put my business out there but i've been separated from my husband for almost 6 yrs and i still get all of his money. in the end the wife will always get the money even if she has moved on with her life.
