Its okay dont feel so bad. There are a lot of people out there with the same situation as you are. I feel a little guilty I used to make fun of my brother for his S's. I take it all back. I think what helped him a lot was to practice the S's a lot alone and look at himself infront of the mirror while doing it. He would try to observe his tounge. He sounds quite better than ever.

It is very though but he kept a good sense up, He made himself sound like he was from another country.

Just try practicing the words for betterment. Cheer up! There are probably more of you out there than you think and you could probably in the future work as an advisor to those with the same problem than people like us!

According to the organization (the Office of Family and Child Services) that regulates daycares in NY, many of the daycares in Richmond Hill have had serious violations in the past two years.

I would try a daycare in Inwood, Valley Stream, or Woodmere.
According to the NY website, the following centers have not had any SERIOUS violations against them in the last two years.

"Mild" autism can mean different things to different people. The specific services that are most applicable to your child should be ones based on his or her own needs. As for what method works "best", it depends largely on your child and your situation.

Rather than request a specific program, learn a bit more about what particular services are available and then weigh out your options. As for your speech therapist, learn a bit about what their programs are and what assessments are involved. I may be a bit biased towards behavior analytic tools, but I have had good experiences using the VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R to track functional and language skills.

Find out more about who will work with your child and work out an approach with them. A big part of implementing those services, whatever they are, is having a collaborative relationship between you, the team and the student.

I have not had the same experience, but I just wanted to say that I think you are going about dealing with it the right way, with the testing and therapy. I would definatly continue that, and if one doctor doesnt give you an answer you are satisfied with , then find another and another until you feel your son is getting all the help he needs. I will keep you, your son and family in my prayers. I hope that you find out something soon. I'm sure just know what's wrong will be quite a relief. Good Luck.
