Speech Therapy Employment

Sherri Said:

If my sister from the US moves to the UK, will her she and her Autistic son get health coverage/services?

We Answered:

I read that you cannot receive helath benefits unless you declare residency and work towards getting UK status. or, if your employer will pay for your private health care benefits. Also, beware of moving there with an Autistic son: He may not get services there either, ebcasue he is not a resident of the UK. Unless you marry someone there who is British and has the health care already set up for both of you.

Kurt Said:

Have I done something wrong to be taken to employment tribunal?

We Answered:

Sounds really stupid. Considering the fact that you hired her in the first place, I think that rules out racism.

Heather Said:

Business or work ideas for retirement age...?

We Answered:

Become an advocate for students with special needs. You can be a Speech and Language consultant for parents who get turned down for Speech Therapy for their child in their IEP meetings. (You might pair up with a licensed School Psychologist to form a business partnership.)

You can contact your local Regional Center, Law Firm that specializes in special education advocacy, or call a disabilities organization like the American Autism Society and explain your qualifications and your desire to help parents get their children qualified for Speech Therapy.

Special Education Advocacy links are at the bottom of the link below.

Vicki Said:

Have I done something wrong?...being taken to employment tribunal.?

We Answered:

Don't worry. If she's really that incompetent, then she has no case. Just be calm and tick to the facts at the tribunal.
