Speech Therapy For Children
Nathaniel Said:
what are the common methods used in speech therapy for children? We Answered:
Is your pediatrician worried? There are few different reasons there may be a delay in speech. Speech therapy varies depending on the reason. My niece's speech problem was muscular therefore the therapy was a lot of muscle exercises with her tongue. My daughters speech has something to do with the signal from her brain to her mouth. She adds syllables and such. Her therapy is alot of practice with certain sounds. Your pediatrician is probably the person who can lead you in the right direction. If you still have concerns then you could probably look into having your child evaluated by a speech therapist. Maybe even bring up that possibility to ur doctor. Best of Luck to youTeresa Said:

Where can I find research studies for early intervention of speech therapy for children? We Answered:
Check with your county Health board, for free screening and advice, also many school districts offer early age screening and can place child with a aid. My daughter was tested at three. But she passed the testing so when she started school a teacher noticed she had problems so, they retested and gave her special instruction w/ speech therapy. Her speech was in paired by her teeth development she was in cross bite so the orthodontist gave her a appliance to widen her arch and her teeth then articulated and she was able to pronounce difficult letters she struggled with prior. Also we just found out last year she's 12, the school always checks hearing and eye tests. She struggled with reading we assumed it was do to her speech. Low and behold I took her to a regular optometrist for a professional eye exam and found out her eyes do not track, that means that she can't follow a line as she reads because one eye wonders off. So off to a specialist that gives her exercises to do daily-its a struggle but good luck, you always want to help your kids to make their life easier, and it hurts when you can't.
