I work in a nursing home and have had people live 5-10 yrs like that. That is what is so sad, they lay there and cannot taste food, and are always thirsty. If they are refusing because they want to die and that was my family member i would pull it. If they are refusing because their stroke is in control and I was their family member, I'd pull it. I watch people lay for years like that and get bed sores and such no matter the care we give. I would not let my family be like that either. All families are different and some just want to hold on and some just are in denial, but all suffer.The fact that the peg tube is only on for 12 hrs is not going to keep him going long. Slowly his body will starve inside and organs will start to fail. I give him a month, but I am not God. I would pray God would intervine.
