Hello...I went through a similar situation. My 3 y/o daughter has Rett Syndrome (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and she is considered somewhat vulnerable to illness increasing her seizures so decided to hold off on putting her in school. They had no problem with this and had her services come into the home (continued with infant program) and was just written into her IEP. In you daughter's case it seems like the school program is just not a good fit for her. Is she in ABA? Her IEP needs to be written in a way that WILL teach according to her needs. Has your daughter been tested for Rett Syndrome? I always ask when I seen a girl labeled as autistic because RS is commonly misdiagnosed as autism or CP and is a girl disorder, while autism is a boy disorder. There are ways of teaching my daughter that are different from autistic kids (she is highly social and very gentle) so maybe your daughter doesn't fit in with other autistic methods of teaching.Florence Said:

My son developed his language a little slower too. We used a lot of nursery rhymes and songs, also we read lots of picture book, kids learn speech by repetition, read the same books over and over pointing at the pictures and naming it. Also if possible, take your little one to a class where he/she can interact with more children. Usually boy's have more slower development in speech than girls, so if it a boy don't worry too much.Linda Said:

I have corrected quite a few of this matter with conversational practices and they are OK now and even able to sing. Best way to pass on the materials to help others is put up a Notice of Needs & Gives at Yahoo or Facebook or MSN and they will come for it. You can also check with your nearby Charity Organisation or Yahoo to help out.Please take a look at Yahoo Service Sector for my question to all to help judge my case.......MY Question was deleted due to people complain that is was not a question........any such case to you?

my son had speech therapy for 2 yrs,it was free on the NHS,he speaks with a slight lisp now but it has greatly improved compared to how he used to be :-)Gertrude Said:
