Speech Therapy R Sound
Russell Said:
How do you pronounce the R sound when...?We Answered:
Bear: beh-erIt's hard to type... I have problems with my R's too. I went to therapy in elementary school but then I stopped. Now people just think I talk with an accent, though they can never say from where.
Albert Said:
What do u do in speech therapy?? I can't say my r sound? We Answered:
Hey Let start from the beginningHope this will help I came from a Mixed back ground of many
different cultures - and learning from one of my family members
to help with my diction and word forming - I had problems saying the letter "S" and hours of listening to the middle key "C" on the piano help, breathing also can play a valuable part of speech as well
singing can help relaxed your vocal codes and helps forming vowels like
( a e i o u) for an encouragement started it may sound weird to
start with but it helps and touching your tongue - if you do not feel comfortable " Say " "NO !!! " a Good and Trusted Speech Therapist
would be then willing to help engaging the Parents as well as the children to give them the interaction of the speech patterns etc-
I would encouraged you to write a simple poem/ words that may started with the letter "r" try this for one
'Roaming, Riding, Rollover, Rover, " " the middle word "r" now
for example- Driver, Drover, Truffles, Gruff,
the third example the letter " R" is the third letter along
for example- " Christmas, Strive, Marks,Participation"
Now it not so easy to start off with and sometimes it can be really
frustrating to get this letters and sounds correct but do not give up
the old saying is true " Practice , Practice and Practice
Have Fun with the Words used your mouth like you a blowing out bubbles and the final tip can be helpful- try gurgling with water before you start - have a sip of water not a lot and put your head back and rolled it towards the back of your throat and you rubbed you neck as well- this help you to notice where the sound is coming from and it also help with dental hygiene too-
Go with Your Parents or some one you can trusted to the a qualified
speech therapist or asked your Local Doctor for Recommendations or
Your Local School where u can attended this valuable lessons from
Take care have fun
all the best
Violet Said:
Can I still be a speech therapist if I have an speech disorder? We Answered:
Anything is possible. In many cases it is important for a speech therapist to have "perfect" speech but there is way more to speech than just talking. Many times speech, in a school setting, is about using correct words such as "he" instead of "she" or grouping common objects. I am a special ed aide and I have sat with kids many times during speech. The therapist works on much more than proper pronunciation.
