Do u think ADHD is diagnosed too often? (Warning it’s kinda long)? We Answered:
I think Add/ADHD is one f the most over-diagnosed "disorders" today. Kids have energy...that's the bottom line. Kids need to be outside doing something with all that built up energy! I wish some parents would quit sticking their child in front of a television because they are to tired or lazy to watch them. Go outside and let your kids run around and play at a park. Kids spend so much time in front of a television its no wonder they think its boring to read or find it hard to pay attention to a teacher when she is giving instruction. They are so use to fast paced animation and constant over stimulation they cant concentrate for a long period of time! That being said, i honestly do think there are children out there who truly have ADD/ADHD and medication helps them focus and put forth a better effort then not being on medication.
ADD/ADHD has skyrocketed in the last 15 years and with the rise of this there has also been a rise in the violence on television, and the amount of time kids spend indoors. The houses sre bigger and the yards are smaller...coincidence? I don't think so.

Do I have A speech impairment?We Answered:
No, you do not have a speech impairment. There are many words that certain people may say that sound "funny". It could be that you are influenced by your geographic location or that your parents or others around you pronounce the word the same as you do. If you want to "fix" how you say the word "ask", then I would suggest that you try saying it slowly and using good articulation. It will feel odd at first and may take awhile for you to generalize saying "ask" in a new way. You have to consciously be aware of the word and try to change your articulation for it during normal conversation.Claire Said:
13 month old needs speech therapy? We Answered:
oh b.s. i would not take ur kid to that doctor ever again. thats bullshit. what a quack. babies do develop at their own rate. 13 months old??? thats right at a year. my first daughter was speaking a lot more at that time...but my second daughter didnt have much to say until she was nearly 2. it all depends on the child. and u r doing right as a mother...follow your gut instincts like you know you want to. and shame on your sister! sounds like there are some people being a little too hard on that baby. sounds perfectly normal to me.
