Andre Said:

Can you anwers this question (especially of you are a psychologist or a psychiatrist)?

We Answered:

I think that they would still mix it up, due to the fact that they are a patient with schizophrenia. Because they have schizophrenia, the brain would still put out, 'word salad', even while it was otherwise engaged with typing. The word salad would be stemming from the schizo, so the wording would be scattered due to multiple people typing at once. Though whether or not the person would see what they were doing, go back and correct their mistakes, is interesting to think about, it wouldn only happen once the typing exercise had ceased.

2 year old not pronoucing his "s" sound, should I worry?

We Answered:

Oh No nothing to worry about, and what you are doing with the (SSSSS) is FANTASTIC! I've read so much on Speech therapy since my 2yr old is speech delayed I think I could be a speech therapist LOL
He will pick it up in no time, just keep up with the (SSSS) Make him practice it with words throughout the day, when hes playing or you two are playing together, shopping "Point out an object that starts with an S & make him say it & Praise him for it"...etc..

Good Luck!

What do you think would be a reason a 6 year old would need speech therapy?

We Answered:

I think that they need to back off. They said that my brother had adhd or something similar, when it was just because he was bored. Even in the advanced classes he would finish his assignment very quickly an just be a hand full. They have always butted their noses were it wasn't needed. In the end it will be your money paying for it. Tell them to go to hell. They don't know what they are talking about. People are saying that my 22 month old needs speech therapy because he doesn't talk yet. I think that they are full of crap too. He just isn't ready to talk. If your daughter is remembering things that you correct her on, than that should be good enough.

Nope, they wouldn't be doing it if they weren't getting anything from it. The school system is just a corporate machine. They have their interest's in front of the students'. My husband works for an independent schooling company that supplies learning aids to the jails, military academy's, and alternate schooling . The people in charge bought all the employees that they have IPods, were as the computers for the students are 6 years old or older. They are run down, and aren't very good. They buy what they want, not what is needed. I think if it has anything to do with the school systems, They put what they want in front of what is needed.

Cyclothymic question. Stopped seeing therapist and taking medications need a little help?

We Answered:

I think if you make time to see your therapist and work onyour medications you two would be able to find the right combination of medications. I took Abilify myself and hated it. I know your life was different after taking the medication, but think about the way these kind of disorders ruin our lives. Maybe it was a good thing to have change. You're still you, just new and improved. I have bipolar type ll and I have sever changes of thought about things all of the time. But, when you find the right medications you feel like you and you're finally in control of your life.

Am I Too B!tchy During Pregnancy???

We Answered:

My partner has worked
As an electrician
as a sheetrock hanger
as a tile-layer's helper
then as a package store clerk
and then a fast-food worker
a short-order cook
then a convenience store clerk
(2 different places)
fast food worker again
convenience store clerk...
oh and then he did a grocery supply job
and then went to truck school
and then went 1000 out of state with me and our son as a security system installer
then that fell through and he worked fast food again...
now he's a dishwasher...

this is all just in a little less than TWO YEARS... i had to work on and off through my first pgcy b/c he was getting speeding tickets... spending money at the club, at the bar, on random sh*t we didn't need... oh and i might add that he hasn't made more than MAYBE $200 except TWO of the jobs where he got $400 a week at one and $250 a week at the other...

Truck school cost $4,000...
he signed into a $20,000 car loan ticket, oh and traded in MY car to get it...
he moved us out of our house
wouldn't pay our bills
there were times we had beer in the fridge but no groceries...

oh and we have lived in
my apartment to start, until i ended up losing it
so we moved in with his "Friends" who ended up kicking us out b/c they though he stole from them
then we moved in with another friend, slept on their couch for 3 months...
moved in with his dad
FINALLY moved in a house i found for us (i had to sell my truck to get the downpayment on this little tiny trailer)...
and then he quit the grocery stocking job cause it was hurting his shoulders
we eventually lost our trailer
moved in with some more friends THEY got evicted...
now we are BACK WITH THE SAME PEOPLE we lived with for 3 months...

i totally feel you on this one.

and this is only THE BEGINNING of the problems we have... sometimes I wonder why i'm still here.

Mum of 3 struggling to cope... any advice....?

We Answered:

I am guessing that these behavior problems didn't start overnight right? It is a situation that developed from the onset in how you have managed past situations.

The most effective technique is simply to make the rules, explain the rules and then apply discipline and reward as appropriate. The key is to be consistent, work on a few big rules at a time and carry through.

It sounds as if you are in need of parenting classes. Check with your pediatrician or your local community. THere are often classes offered just for these situations.

Watching Supernanny can help too. At least you can see how she takes control of a situation. You need to step up and take control.

Olga Said:

This is a very interesting question for Psychiatrists?

We Answered:

Interesting... think someone that is schizophrenic can still make sentences. allot times a small hint of telling when someone is schizophrenic is they well always state the last word you said to them back. they have long brief periods of just sitting in their room stairing at a object. I think they can make complete sentences on a keyboard they just get distracted in their hallucination. maybe gaze out the window.

Discuss It!
