There are several behaviors that contribute to the formation of vocal nodules (together, they are "voice abuse"). Any behavior that causes the cords to bang together can cause them.

Reducing the size of, and even the existence of, nodules is accomplished by eliminating abusive behaviors and learning new ones.

Behaviors to eliminate:

Coughing
Yelling
Throat-clearing (it may feel like there's something in there, but it's the nodules! Drink cool water, instead.)
Avoid hot or cold beverages. (The hot ones do nothing to relieve swelling or irritation, and very cold ones can stimulate the cough reflex)
Humming
Singing
Loud whispering and loud talking
Laughing
Talking

Rest your voice as much as is humanly possible. If you have a job where you need to talk, rest your voice all evenings and whenever you have time off. Of you don't use your voice at work, so much the better!

You may want to take a vacation.

Because nodules are basically calluses on the vocal processes (the end of the bones to which part of the vocal cords attach), it will take several weeks of voice rest for them to go away.

According to the UCAS's course search facility the only university that offers speech and language therapy in the West Midlands is Birmingham City University which ask for 260 UCAS points from 3 A Levels (with one science or psychology).

I think , it doesn't really matter.
The courses that your friends took (academic courses) aren't focused on one type of career either.
I think that if u take some seminars during your free time or learn certain type of skills and practice it regularly, you can make a profession out of it.

For example , i know some very famous writers who don't go to college ...they learn how to write on their own , they make an effort to learn something new everyday and take their own initiative to go to the libraries and borrow informational materials that they needed , to progress forward on their particular skills.

Another good example will be cheryl cole.
Without the experiences and the hardships that she went through in her life , i don't think she can dance & sing so well.

Don't let other people's opinion affect you.
Why not be proud of the course that you're taking?
If you think that you have the potential to do a "more" challenging course, why not ace the course that you'll be taking next year and show to people what you are made of.
I heard that if you are the best in your field, it won't be hard for you to find a job...Before u even graduate people ,might give u an offer already.

Therefore, cheer up and be optimistic.
Why be sad, when u can be happy?
Be proud of yourself and enjoy life.

The best place I have found for used materials is ebay. Just do a search for 'speech therapy'. Also, you could make your own cards using pictures from Google Images. This can work for making object id cards, verb cards, emotion cards, etc...

You can only make payment arrangements with the billing department of the hospital. If you ignore it, the debt goes to collection and you know the rest. Your husband does not have any insurance at his job? I am sorry for your situation. It is the reason Obama agreed to the insurance exchange for everyone to buy into. No one will refuse to deliver nutrition. They are not involved in your financial obligations. Don't worry about that.

I remember a time when there was no charge when you had treatment at a county or city hospital.
