I want to major in Speech Therapy? We Answered:
You could major in many different fields, but common undergrad majors for future speech pathologists are psychology and linguistics. After completing your bachelors you would go to graduate school to specifically specialize in speech pathology (about 3 years of classes, a comps exam, and an internship for about a year - but various schools' programs differ some). After completing all requirements you could work in a number of places including your own personal office, a hospital, or a school. Speech therapy is comprehensive and can focus on both biological and cognitive conditions. It's an awesome field to work toward because speech therapists are high in demand, the job usually pays well depending on where you choose to work, and your specialization in the field can be rather flexible.
