It could go against you - my daughter applied for a nursing degree and she has already done access to nursing and several years as a senior carer in a nursing home but at the interview they said she would not learn anything in her work placement, she is still waiting to hear if she got accepted. Put your past working or educational certificate and experiences in your portfolio

I am a speech-language pathologist or SLP (commonly referred to as a speech therapist). What can it hurt to have him evaluated? If he doesn't need therapy they will not pick him up. If he does need therapy he will get the help he needs and not fall further behind. Since your son is young you will definately be present for the evaluation. The examiner will likely ask you questions about his speech and language at home because with little ones its sometimes difficult to elicit responses from the child. Make sure you don't answer for or help your child when the examiner is trying to elicit a response. The examiner wants to get a accurate picture of what level your child is functioning so she can make the most appropriate recommendations. The evaluation will likely be play based. Good luck!
