After Knee Replacement Surgery

Arthur Said:

After knee replacement surgery did you go to a rehab care facility or have in home therapy from the start?

We Answered:

It's best to go to rehab. Being home can inhibit the enthusiasm of exercise. Rehab gets your mindset to continue with the proper exercise and frequency of therapy.

Can person be able to walk normally after knee replacement surgery?

We Answered:

Jasmine, After knee replacement a person can walk normally. But natural limbs are natural. Our medical science progressed very well in this field. What ever the shortcomings were present in the previous years has now almost eliminated by the doctors. Up to to some extent, it depends upon the doctors that how the surgery is performed, more
efficient or less efficient. Like in the same way normal way of life after surgery, also depends upon the operated person. After surgery a person can walk, can bend knees (which were restricted in the previous years), can go up & down by stairs but can'nt run till now. As a precaution the operated person should avoid to lift heavy luggage, avoid to bend knees, avoid to kick start the vehicles, avoid jerking the knees & finally avoid all the things which give the knees extra load except moving & walking, after all artifical is arifical. My suggestion is that if someone in your family is having severe problems regarding knees then you can replace the knees if the doctor approves. It is good , opersted person can get new life if he/she is having no other problem due to old age. In my family my Papa replaced his both knees 5-6 years ago. He is alright & always remain in high spirits. My Papa operated at PGI Chandigarh. (India). If you need some extra knowledge then you can mail me.
