insurance typically does not cover it unless you can prove that the skin is causing you problems - the main one being a rash. if you have ANY evidence of a rash AT ALL, go to your doctor - going will make it seem like you are honestly concerned about it, and you will be more likely to get it covered. i think the costs are upwards of $60,000, so getting it paid by insurance takes work, but it will be well worth it.

I had Gastric Bypass srugery Oct 2007 and I've lost 148 pounds and only need to lose anohter 35 to be at my goal.

If you really want the body life, I would wait until you are at the weight you want to be at. The body lift isn't that dramatic but it does remove all that excess skin hanging around. You'll go down a couple pants sizes too!

For me, the surgery was about getting halthy and living longer. I'll never wear a bikini but it would be nice to wear a conservative one piece. I could do that now but I do have lot of skin on my thighs and a lovely little extra skin pouch on my stomach. I do plan on having the body life but I'm waiting until I reach my doctor's goal before doing it.
