Breast Reduction Surgery Video

Alvin Said:

Can someone show me a video of a breast reduction surgery ?

We Answered:

Wait until after you get it done to watch, its kinda gross.

I went from a 38J to a 38C and don't regret it one bit!

FYI, you DO have a chance of breastfeeding after a reduction, please check out http://www.bfar.org as your chances really depend on if they remove your nipple or not. If they don't chances are great, if they do, you may or may not be able to breastfeed.

I Have Several Breast Reduction Surgery Questions!?

We Answered:

Hi! Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I had a BR 5 years ago and went from a 40G to a 36C. It is an amazing difference!

I went back to work in about a week and a half. I worked in a photo lab, so there was minimal lifting involved in my job. If you have a physically strenuous job, you might have to wait 2 weeks or more, depending on how strenuous your job is. If you just have an office job, you should be able to go back to work in a week to 10 days.

Aspirin thins the blood, so I don't know that it's advisable to take right after surgery. The Dr. will provide you with pain medication, and after that Tylenol will suffice.

The pain was not bad...really. I took, MAYBE, 3 doses of Percocet in the 2 days following the surgery. And I took those at night so I could sleep more comfortably. I couldn't lay down for several days to a week, so I had to sleep in a recliner. When I could lay in bed again, I used pillows to support everything. You'll certainly be "tender" for a couple weeks, but you won't be in pain.

I doubt video taping will be possible unless the particular OR is already set up to do a taping, which it probably won't be unless it's a teaching hospital. I asked this same question to my Dr. because I thought it would be awesome to have it on tape. So, it wouldn't hurt to ask, but be prepared to be disappointed.

Post-Op was a breeze for me. Even with bruised and scarred boobies, I felt a big physical difference in my posture from having that weight removed. As long as you have done thorough research and know what to expect in those days and weeks afterwards, you will most likely be pleased.

300cc's is 300 cubic centimeters, which is a measurement of volume (i.e. how much space it takes up). Imagine about 10 or 11 liquid ounces in a measuring cup and that's about how much 300cc's is. They'll also give you a weight measurement when all is said and done, of how much they took out. I had 3 pounds removed. 3 pounds doesn't sound like much, but pick up a 3lb handweight and imagine wearing it tied around your neck all day!

I tell you, this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. My posture improved; I gained 2 inches in height! My mobility improved. I was able to actually exercise and be more active, so I lost some weight, too. For the first time in my life, I actually loved my body. After a year, the scars had faded so that they were hardly noticeable. It's so nice to be able to go to Wal Mart and buy a cute $10 bra off the shelf! No more big ugly bras that use 3 yards of fabric to hold those things in!! As a 40G, I had to special order my bras on the internet at about $50 a pop! With a new confidence, my whole outlook on life improved!

I'm sure you've already had at least a couple consultations with your dr and he's discussed with you what you can expect. I would advise that you look at hundreds of before and after pics. Choose some where the "before" looks like you, size and shape and body type. Of these, choose some where you do like the "after" and some where you don't like the "after". That way you can have a visual discussion with your doc and explain what you do and don't like about those results. That way your doc will really know what you expect and can let you know if your expectations are realistic. Also, ask for before and afters or procedures HE himself has done.

Realize that "after" pics taken one week, or even one month after surgery will still look rather raw, with some swelling still and bright red scars.

Be sure to do your own before and after! If you don't have a bf or mom or other friend to help, you can just set your camera on a timer and do it yourself. I would take a pic every day for the first week, then every week for about 3 months, and then once a month until the year mark. You'll have a very comprehensive photo journal of your experience and you'll be amazed at the changes you see!

Anyway, Best of Luck! You'll love your new boobies!! I sure love mine!

Why are breast reduction surgery allowed as frequent as they are?

We Answered:

Completely agree with you on this one. The weight is more likely to be giving her problems, rather than breast size.

I don't understand why anyone would want reductions! I guess being a size A makes me biased, lol.

Can you maybe start encouraging her to walk with you or something? Getting out of the house and doing a bit of exercise would be a GREAT start for her.

Should I forget about my chances of being a qualified candidate?

We Answered:

my friend and her daughter just had the reduction. in america. doctor's recommendation required and appeal any denials. it's a health not cosmetic problem. could be mental health.
