How much does breast reduction surgery cost?

We Answered:

Not much if you get it covered by insurance.

Insurance covered mine 100% ($8,000 USD) and I only had to pay a $75 copay for the overnight hospital stay.

How much pain after breast reduction surgery?

We Answered:

the pain wasn't terrible. i was on pain medication and i took it every 4 hours. the most painful part was the drive home from the hospital. i got in the front seat of my mom's van, but after 2 minutes, i told her to pull over, i sat in the middle seat and reclined the chair with no seat belt. every bump and turn hurt. once i was in my house, it was better. at my first post surgery appt i asked for a refill of the pain pills but then only took them to sleep at night.

don't worry, it is well worth it. i love my results.

good luck

How to best support a friend after breast reduction surgery?

We Answered:

Flowers are nice, and I imagine she would enjoy them.

Is there a special food your friend likes? If so, bring her some as soon as the doctor lifts any dietary restrictions there might be.

Massage her hands and feet: That will help her to relax, and some studies have suggested that just plain touching seems to help the healing process.

Bring her funny movies to watch, and watch them with her.

Above all, if she wants to talk, Listen.

Good luck, and bless you.

How long is recovery for breast reduction surgery?

We Answered:

Hello Crissy,

Everyone is different and will heal at different speeds. On average, full recovery is 6 weeks. You would need to avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for 1 week. Post-op appointments are important to make sure your recovery is on track.
