Bunion Surgery Before And After
Jean Said:
Bunion Surgery - What do you think? What was your experience? We Answered:
I'm thinking of having this surgery real soon, and my Dr. said I must be off of my foot almost completely for at least 2 weeks, then only try to work part time for another 2 weeks as it takes bones a long time to heal correctly. He would prefer I would take off work 6 weeks but I can't, so I have to behave as he says. If you don't take it slow there may be problems. I'm real nervous about this too. Hope yours gets much better.Ruth Said:
Im considering having bunion surgery? We Answered:
Yes, it is an out patent surgery. i was put to sleep, but they also numb your feet. i did not get my feeling back for an entire day! That a long time compared to most people. it is about 3-4 weeks before you can walk normally again. after the surgery, i had no problems with pain at all, really. i took a pain killer once to see what it would do and i just fell asleep so that was the last time i took one! most of all its just frustrating that u cant move around as much as you would like. but its not to bad at all.Melinda Said:
bunion still there after surgery? We Answered:
I had bunion surgery about 10 yrs. ago on both feet. And on my right foot there is a slightly bigger "bump" than on the left. BUT they are definately smaller than they were before my surgery. And my big toes don't turn in as much. I do still some trouble with them on occasion. Those areas are a bit tender at times if I wear shoes that put pressure on a certain spot and they ache sometimes because of the weather. But overall it's not bad. I would make an appointment with the doctor who preformed the surgery. Talk to him about your concerns. I doubt that the bone is going to "shrink" so what you've got now is it. And if you want your feet to feel and look better before summer make that appointment.Laurie Said:
