Need MAJOR dental work done!!!?We Answered:
Fees vary by zip code, so no one can give you accurate fees. That's something you will need to call around. Ask local dental offices if they give free second opinions. I do that in my office. All I ask is that the patient brings a copy of their own xrays as the free consult does not include anything but an opinion. An option for reduced fees is to purchase Aetna Dental Access. This is a reduced fee schedule (Aetna PPO) and is accepted by all Aetna PPO providers. While you pay 100% of this fee schedule, it saves a huge amount compared to not having any insurance. The premium runs around $100 per year for an individual. That works out to be less than $9 per month. Certainly affordable. As far as treatment, have one tooth at a time fixed as finances allow. Those of us in the field prefer to work in quadrants on our patients, but not every one has the funds to do so. Remember, call around for free second opinions (they should be able to give you a rough idea of treatment and associated costs) and look into Aetna Dental Access as a viable option to bring your costs down.Frederick Said:
Do you think there will be an anti tax/government movement in the not too distant future? We Answered:
The same fight will aways prevail among the citizens. Which taxed services get cut?No one ever wants to give up their "free service" which is not free.
And yet taxes are required to make the world go round and services that are needed to run.
Perhaps Shakespeare had it correct: Shoot all the lawyers. Then go for a few of the politicians who make no sense what so ever. If nothing else it will humor the public.

Has you had Dental Implants? We Answered:
You need to do a lot of research before you promise him anything. First of all dental implants and not painful. Dental implants can be very costly if you want all of his teeth replaced with them. You would be looking at about $3000.00 per tooth to replace it with and implant and then a crown. Do the math and you'll see that a full mouth of implants and crowns can be around $80,000.00. There may be easier and less costly alternatives. Maybe a denture supported by implants. Maybe some of his teeth can be saved and partials or bridges can be done. He needs to have a consultation with a dentist. The sooner the better. Things will not get easier or cheaper the longer he waits.Andrew Said:
Anyone ever had dental cosmetic surgery to fix a 'gummy' smile? We Answered:
Basically the procedure in which would be performed is called a Gingivoplasty. It entails recontouring/reshaping the gingival tissue. Most dentists will use a instrument which trims the tissues by cauterizes them. You'll experience a few days of mild discomfort, but the results will be almost immediate. Good luck.
