you could apply for something called Care Credit. It works like a credit card good only for the animal hospital. be advised though, haveing a co signer is ideal.

Tommy Said:

How much does cataract surgery for dogs cost in the UK?

We Answered:

You're looking at about £1600 for one eye or around £2400 for both, and that's not including aftercare and the drugs needed. If you have pet plan insurance then you will most probably be covered.

Add: Apparently you can have it done cheaper up north for about £1500 for both eyes, not including the consultation and after care plus drugs.

cataract surgery for my dog?

We Answered:

Your dog needs to be seen and treated by a canine ophthalmologist. Your regular vet can refer you to one. As for price, you'll have to get that from the specialist. They aren't cheap. For 3 visits for my cat's ulcer on his eye, no surgery, and the meds I bought seperately at the pharmacy, it was over $1500.00.

Please don't take the dog to see a regular vet. Would you have your family doctor do surgery on your eyes? Probably not!
