Double Eyelid Surgery
Laurie Said:
I am having double eyelid surgery under local anaesthesia & was wondering where they insert the needle? We Answered:
Asian blepharoplasty, also known as "double eyelid surgery," is a type of cosmetic surgery where the skin around the eye is reshaped (blepharoplasty). The purpose of the procedure is to create an upper eyelid with a crease (i.e. "double eyelid") from an eyelid without a crease (i.e. "single eyelid)The upper lid fold can range from 1 mm above the eyelash line to about 10 mm. Several methods can be used to create the double eyelid--including the full-incisional, partial incision and no incision methods (e.g. the DST method). Each has its advantages depending on the patient's anatomy and desires
A procedure to remove the epicanthal fold (i.e. an epicanthoplasty) is often performed in conjunction with an Asian blepharoplasty.
This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or by laser method. Downtime is minimal. You're awake but you don't feel no pain. Ask the surgeon to use absorbable sutures as silk sutures are painful to be removed.
Another approach is via eyebrow lift. or forehead lift. This requires general anesthesia.

Where can I do double eyelid surgery? We Answered:
I have seen adds for the operation in the newspapers from chinatown in NYC, but there are probably doctors who do it in any large city with a big asian population. I don't know the cost; it wasn't in the ads, and my eyelids are already double- line, so I had no occasion to ask.The medical term for various kinds of eyelid surgey is blepharoplasty; maybe your doctor could refer you to someone who does these operations.

Do the shots for getting the double eyelid surgery hurt?We Answered:
Personally i don't knowbut even if it does hurt it will be over with in a matter of time and you won't regret doing it
but i had my tooth pulled out once, similar in a way
they gave me a needle to make my whole mouth numb, i thought it would hurt but it only felt like a tiny prick and it didn't hurt at all.
if you have high pain tolerance i don't think you should have anything to worry about
don't think on it because you know, it's the thought that counts, well it's the same thing if you know what i mean...
Hope I helped and Good Luck!!! =)
