Objecting to gender reassignment surgery?

We Answered:

Yes, ignorant bigots object to the NHS correcting a person's natural born condition - preferring them to live a lifetime of pain, confusion and solitude. ...but they're quite happy for the NHS to squander billions each year to mop up the idiotic mess caused by alcohol, stupid driving, obesity, etc. Then there's the billions spent on treating people from overseas who come to the UK for free medical treatment (notice the piece in today's news about NHS staff going sick? - that's cos there's no account in PCT budgets for overseas health tourists, hence no slack in the system, hence staff have to routinely deal with life & death situations without the resources), and then there's the billions squandered on bombing the hell out of foreign countries for no gain whatsoever.

The hoops a transexual has to jump through to get NHS treatment would put off all but the most determined, and then the NHS doesn't cover the whole procedure anyway. From what I've heard, many transexuals would prefer to get the money (by whatever means necessary) to go private in Thailand cos the treatment and results are better than the NHS's finest. Getting that kind of money together (around £50k) when society is still so totally backward is a major source of stress.

Jason Said:

What's your honest opinion of people who want to change their gender or undergo gender reassignment surgery?

We Answered:

Your Dad is ignorant and prejudiced.

Transsexualism is a birth condition and as such those affected have the right to correct it.

Elaine Said:

does anyone know of any videos of gender reassignment surgery?

We Answered:

I don't have a link but I do have a DVD that I could convert and upload for you. Drop me an email.

Kathryn Said:

After gender reassignment surgery is sexual pleasure still possible?

We Answered:

Yes absolutely but the operations is more effective and easier for a male to female than for a female to male transition.
It is much easier to invert a penis into a vagina and construct a clitoris than to make a functional penis

Dean Said:

How would you handle finding out your friend just had gender-reassignment surgery?

We Answered:

LOL, I am sure if Patrick wasn't under the influence of pain meds, he would probably fly out to CA (today) and throttle his ex-friend, Jack. From what I understand, Patrick isn't into fuzzyotterbears.

Paula Said:

How does a gender reassignment surgery work?

We Answered:

Men who want gender reassignment surgery do not want to continue to live like males. Long before the surgery, which is the final step in the process, they begin to live like females, dressing like women, etc. They usually get breast enhancement surgery and take female hormones. The genital reassignment surgery is the last step once the man is absolutely convinced he's doing the right thing, and costs, I believe, close to $100,000. It is not covered by insurance. I can only guess what the emotional cost is.
