Well time has proven that there is room for two late night talk show hosts.
Dave should have know that Johnny Carson hand picked Jay to take over the Tonight Show.
Sure Dave probably left miffed at NBC but he's well compensated & is in no danger of losing his job.

What else can you talk about & make fun of in a monologue but current events? Jay with his move again is current events.

There are either Jay or Dave fans.

It was rumored that Johnny Carson didn't even talk to his guests during commercial breaks.
Why go on these shows? To tell everyone about your new movie or book. You hit a tremendous amount of people to solicit your product to.
