There would be no reason for you to come off of methadone...but it is very important that you let the anesthesia person know that you are on it. It should not be especially dangerous to get anesthesia because of the methadone as long as you are otherwise healthy.

I assume that you are on methadone for narcotic maintenance and avoidance of withdrawal? If so - coming off of it will necessitate going through withdrawal.

Many people do strange things and thats just the way that they are. I personally don't think I would film or picture my son's heart surgery, but then again I am curious and would like to see the doctors at work. With something like heart surgery that film may be the last piece that I have of a heart beat from my child if something was to happen. I don't know. . . people do things for different reasons.

I know a lot of people who take pictures of funerals. I for one am not interested in taking pictures of a dead relative or friend dressed up in their casket. I simply don't think that I would be able to look at pictures like that. However, my mom does this and thinks that its completely normal. She says its her last memory of the person.

Its just something that you have to shrug your shoulders about and move on, rather you would do it or not. . .

I find it unusual that a doctor would actually let this take place also unless they wanted the filming and pictures for medical reasons or teaching students. Then I could understand a lot better.
