a week or two.Felix Said:
What can I expect after hiatal hernia surgery? We Answered:
Hernia is simply saying, weakening og the gut. Hiatus Hernia is more painful as it's close 2 the Diaphragm. As it is in the Stomach, it cannot be removed. It's given support generally. Surgry might be laproscopic n wont cause much Discomfort as in Open surgery. U may need some Bed Rest, Restricted Diet, Strict Medication etc.. U can go back 2 normal Life slowly. Be careful 2 not 2 do Heavy workloads 4 many months. Slowly U can start excercises. It all depends upon the severity and age of the patient. Recurrence can be avoided by excercises n proper lifestyle. Trust in God..For everyone.. Abdominal work out is the best way 2 avoid Hernias.

How do I find a reputable doctor to do surgery on a hiatal hernia? We Answered:
Hernia surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her Hernia and Gall bladder surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange Gall bladder, Appendix and Laparoscopy surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as Hernia, Gall bladder, appendix and other minimal invasive surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Is Hiatal Hernia surgery painful?..What goes on?We Answered:
Any time a surgeon has to go through the abdominal wall, the recovery time and pain are worse than the incision length might imply. You will have some discomfort and pain when moving around for a week or so, but it can be managed with pain medication. The term in the hospital is "up to" six days so they can ensure you are free from post operative infection and other potential (but rare) complications. As a surgery goes, this is very simple surgery and with very little risk. The reward is freedom from the pain and discomfort the hernia will cause, which not only will never go away without surgery, but very well may get worse over time.

What are possible hiatal hernia surgery complications? We Answered:
The thing I do when I experience the incredible chest pain, is to swallow as hot a water as I can. It causes the diaphragm to relax and the stomach withdraws from the tear in it.Clarence Said:
is hiatal hernia surgery relatively safe?We Answered:
All surgery has risks and whether it is minor or major surgery doesn't really matter because it depends on your body's reaction to the anesthesia and the procedure itself (please note...I am not referring to high risk or life-threatening conditions throughout this post). Most surgeries go off without a problem and you are closely monitored during anesthesia and the recovery period. The main differences between the laparoscopic version and the regular surgery are:
length of incision
speed of external healing
length of recuperation
amount of pain
length of stay in the hospital
Even though every surgery is different, if you have had surgery in the past without complications, you would probably do well this time also. As with any surgery, the doctor and anesthesiologist should always tell you about any possible complications BEFORE you sign your consent form. If you have any questions, be sure to address them before signing.
