Once your father is released from the hospital he'll have to go through inpatient rehab. That usually lasts six to eight weeks. After that they'll release him but he'll have to go back on a regular basis for outpatient rehab and physical therapy. That can last from six months to a year. The biggest factor in his recovery is how much effort he puts into rehab. If he gives it his best effort, he could be almost 100% by the time he leaves inpatient rehab. If not, it'll take longer.
