How funny. I needed that. I basically just crawled up our living room stairs due to back pain, trying to bring a few groceries in. Either she is going to have a fatal fall or her liver is going to fail unless she gets help for her addiction. Your never to old for rehab. Older people get set in their ways and of she's like my dad who refuses to get surgery for his cancer they become impossible to reason with. Try your best but if she refuses at least you tried.

I think you should maybe concentrate your mind on how you will help your Mum once she has had the surgery. After all it doesn't matter really if YOU are scared, because SHE is the one getting the operation and hopefully she is the one who will benefit from it. Work out how you can help her when she comes home, with house work or making meals etc. Concentrate on the good help you can be and don't worry so much. Take care XX
