Knee Surgery Arthroscopy
Cathy Said:
knee arthroscopy surgery?We Answered:
arthroscopy itself is very easy, if you were having it alone you would be on your feet in a few days, but it sounds like you have a lot of damage and therefore there will be some extensive stuff done. we cant really answer this for you, is it possible to get in contact with your surgeon and ask him? he would be the one who knows the most.you are having surgery, you will be in pain, but how much depends on what is done. dont be afraid to take meds afterwards
make sure you stick to what your surgeon says to do afterwards, and dont worry, you'll be fine!!

Knee Arthroscopy (after surgery) question? We Answered:
same thing happened to me...exactly the same thing...weird, huh? Well it's been only about 6 months so give it a bit more time. I can't remember exactly how long it took to fully heal, but I had my surgery in march of last year and I was ready to run in gym class by september. I dunno, wait and see or check back in with doctor.Jeffery Said:
Will Arthroscopy go ahead if I have caused a wound on my knee a few days prior to surgery? We Answered:
I do believe that the instruments used in arthroscopic surgery will be inserted on the side of your knee and not directly on the knee cap itself, so it shouldn't be a problem. It also depends on how the your wound looks. If it is infected then they won't want to perform surgery until it heals. If it looks clean then they could possibly apply a tegaderm or opsite clear dressing over it and perform the surgery as planned. I hope this helps.Warren Said:
how long after a knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) can you go on a long journey by car as a passenger? We Answered:
stay in bed? no way. i had this surgery for a torn meniscus. i was 62. up and at em'. physical therapy. lots of it. i was walking without assistance within two weeks. back to the gym(carefully) after one month. i had to get a total knee replacement for the non repairable meniscus. same drill. i do 220 lb. presses at the gym. no contact sports. no basketball, soccer. no running. everything else is o.k. you should have pain meds. i wouldn,t go on a protracted car ride for about two weeks. stop every so often and stretch and walk on the affected knee.Christine Said:
What should I expect with my knee surgery? We Answered:
I had right knee arthroscopy with a lateral release done when I was in high school. (1998) Each person is different but I was on crutches for 6 weeks. I was in physical therapy a week after surgery (as soon as my stitches came out.) I had PT 3x a week for 3 months. I
