korean plastic surgery?

We Answered:

Men are significantly less in terms of doing plastic surgery. But if they do, they usually do the contours of their faces so the camera can catch a clearer image of them.

The percentage of male celebrities... I'd say about 20% or less.
Female celebrities make up about 85% or more, as women tend to care their appearance a lot more than men do. But they don't do a complete makeover, because it's very expensive and they often get criticized heavily by their before & after photos. Korean celebrities usually look the same as they looked before, but with a bit of makeup or a skinnier profile. In other words, plastic surgery in Korea is done very carefully, so they look natural. Even some family friends don't notice the difference quite easily.

South Korean celebrities do plastic surgery whenever they feel like they need it, so there is no specific age. However, South Korean commoners with a complex in their appearance tend to do it right after their high school graduation, so they can start a fresh and new life at college. Some Korean parents offer their daughters surgery as a gift of graduation, so their daughters can look pretty at college and have a successful campus life.

There are a lot of Koreans that don't do plastic surgery. Plastic surgery IS expensive. So don't expect every Korean you meet to have done at least something in their face, as there as so many naturally beautiful faces in Korea as well as in everywhere.

Marjorie Said:

Is it true that 90percent of Korean people have plastic surgery?

We Answered:

Absolutely ... and if you actually are considering believing this I have a couple of bridges you might like buying (have the Forth Road and Golden Gates still available).

Ivan Said:

where do korean celebrities get their plastic surgery done?

We Answered:

No celebrity actually divulged that information but Apgujeong Street is this really high end place with lots of designer products, expensive cafes and lots of plastic surgery clinics that rich people visit.

Jordan Said:

Don't you find it funny that Korean women get plastic surgery to make their face more feminine?

We Answered:

Justin Said:

Korean Plastic Surgery; What do you think about it?

We Answered:

Lol yes it's long ^^; sorry about that.

I've heard my fair share of people saying things against plastic surgery like "Ohh you were born that way/ God made you the way you are/ You should be thankful your parents even gave birth to you so why get plastic surgery" Blah blah yes.. I know >__0; As if everything relating to anti-plastic surgery hasn't been beaten like a dead horse already. Of course your own self-esteem is important but I'm not getting into that cuz who doesn't know already?

So~ I'm going to play devil's advocate because I always believe there's another side to every situation.

Personally I wouldn't ever get it, but I believe that I also have no right to say whether a person should or should not get plastic surgery or judge those who get it. It's totally their decision. Think about it, is it YOUR body? NO. Is it a crime? NO. Is it YOUR money? NO. So stay out of other people's personal business. Who are you to judge a person negatively just based on appearance/choice to get plastic surgery? That's shallow and ignorant. What did that person ever do to you anyway? It's like judging someone based on social class, ethnicity, gender, skin color, etc.

I'm disappointed when others start pointing fingers at people who get plastic surgery and instantly, they are labeled as "fakes," and it's even worse if it's a person you don't personally know. -__-;

I don't see why I can't defend people who get it done. I'm not pro-plastic surgery so read carefully. It may change a person's appearance but it won't change their personality. It won't last forever because no amount money can pay to fight against old age in the end. They are not exempt from being human just like all of us are.

Whether plastic surgery is right or wrong is NOT the issue. From my point of view..what's really important is to treat everyone the same. It's because that people can't treat each other with the same level with respect to start with that insecurities begin to arise and one problem leads to another. Plus add media, social norms, and standards on top of that, and what person wouldn't feel pressured? Everyone takes different initiatives though, some will choose to hide away their imperfections, others embrace what they have and move on with life.

As with everyone in the world, it's more than likely that yes, of course there are people who get plastic surgery and act fake as hell. But that doesn't mean ALL people who get it are that way. The odds are just very much the same for ANY person in the world who doesn't get anything done and still act like a complete b*tch/*sshole. We all might as well live life to the fullest than waste time worrying and judging how other are doing with their lives.

It's unfair to generalize, especially now that Korean culture is getting more well known that certain people are labeling Korea as the plastic capital. It's not true and why should people even care which country even IS the plastic surgery capital? Everyone is too obsessed with trying to point out other people's flaws to make themselves look better in comparison... just stop it. That's immature.

I don't care if people criticize/ disagree with me, I'm only pointing out that people should stop making this a bigger issue than it has to be. I'm also not advocating plastic surgery, please read carefully...no where in this did I ever say plastic surgery is awesome or anything. It's not a solution. Don't misuderstand ok? This is just my take on the plastic surgery stuff. And also for argument's sake ;P

I wanted to say more but Y!A is already saying my answer is too long so I couldn't post and had to edit a bunch more stuff out x__x; Well that's what I think lol if anyone cares to read~

Plastic Surgery, Korean Idols, What do you think about them?!?

We Answered:

I totally agree with you. I hate when people announce South Korea as the plastic surgery capital of the world (and usually Japan biased people do it; they should take a look at their own countries people O.o). When you walk down the streets of Seoul (or anywhere in S. Korea) most people are natural.

Nowadays, being pretty or average is a MUST. Even pretty people get made fun of, which is so... it pisses me off. So now people are insecure, and it's definitely the girls, to get cosmetic surgery. If you are constantly being teased, and if the surgery you want to get (as long as you aren't changing your face... I'll explain later he he ^^) will make you happy, then go for it.

In South Korea, double eyelid surgery is normal. Nothing is wrong with a little of that, since it isn't a drastic change, it barely changes the look of your face, your eyes appear larger and makeup is usually easier to apply. Makeup and hair and maturing can change a person a WHOLE lot, so sometimes those pre-debut pictures are lies. A person in middle school probably won't look as good as they do in high school or college.

But there is such thing as too much surgery. If you go all out and do your entire face like eyes, nose, forehead, cheeks, jaw and other body parts, that (in my book) is sinning. It IS like killing yourself to become a new plastic doll walking the streets. That is not good, no human being needs surgery like that. A lot of people who ARE pretty don't appreciate their looks, and go under the knife anyways. That is sad, but when you have no one to tell you that you are beautiful, it's hard not to be tempted. That's why boys nowadays need to tell every girl they see one day that she looks nice.

I don't really consider eyelid surgery PLASTIC surgery. I always thought of true plastic surgery to insert something fake/unnatural into your body, where as eyelid surgery is just tweaking here and there to give you a fold.

The boys in the Korean entertainment industry are damn cute from the start, lol. They usually get a makeover like you said, and change their hair and use makeup and start working out. That's pretty much it. But I think girls (not only in S. Korea, but everywhere)are putt under scrutiny to look perfect. That's why girls are usually the victims of anti fans; they have plastic surgery. I am more surprised when a boy has had surgery than a girl now, which I think is sad.

OMG I HATE THAT! I hate when people say that on YouTube when a girl puts on makeup and circle lenses to make their eyes bigger or dyes their hair blonde. If anybody of any other race did that, they wouldn't rag on them about it. Like you said, no matter WHAT, the person will still look Asian. If you want to dye your hair and put on makeup, I think it's called style. What they say about all Asians wanting to look white is really ignorant "-.-

Yes, every race has plastic people. So it's hypocritical to label one country the 'Plastic People Nation" when surely somebody has gotten some sort of surgery in their race/ nationality.

Overall, it's the persons decision, and nobody should be able to change that. I don't downgrade them at all (unless I think they went overboard, whole face procedure). As long as the little they did looks natural and good on them, I don't have a problem. Hope I helped ^.^~ (and mine was REALLY long O.o sorry about that, I still have lots to say... but you;d be reading for like... hours, keke~)
