well it depends on the scar and its location

you need to go for consultations and see what they say and then decide on the best action

Here in the US we go get a consultation, the most out of pocket is 60 dollar

then based on what they say, we get a second opinion

and from there we make a decision

if you can give us more information we might be able to make a better plan of action

like location , size, type of scar, is it deep, ect..

You don't explain what you want the laser for. They are thousands of dollars..If you had the name of the laser you could Google it.

The only person qualified to make a determination on this is the plastic or reconstructive surgeon you see for the purpose. Lasers generally smooth scars by vaporizing excess tissue. Plastic surgery can resect a scar to change it to a less noticeable location, or to remove the "zipper" scar that is left sometimes. But a scar is a scar, and there are no procedures that can promise to erase it all. It also matters as to how you personally scar. If you formed keloids, then those stand a good chance of reforming no matter what you do. But you really can't make this decision and go in demanding one procedure or the other. You hire a plastic/reconstructive surgeon, and take his/her advice. That's what you pay for- the expertise to know which is best for your situation after it's been properly evaluated by the person trained to decide.
